Practiced lying down in savasana with guided verbal instructions that occupy the mind as the body relaxes\, we shift into pratyahara (sense withdrawal) – remaining a witness\, awake and aware\, we move into a subtle state of deep conscious sleep (the state between wakefulness and sleep). We work through levels of the unconscious and subconscious\, removing energetic blockages. \nThis experience is a powerful way to set our intention for the new year and plant it’s seeds with our Sankalpa (Resolve\, Resolution\, Force of Will) which is established during yoga nidra. When our mind is calm and quiet during yoga nidra it is more receptive and sensitive to our intentions as they are impressed on the subconscious mind. \nWe will begin with a peace chant\, calming & subtle evening yogic breathing practices including mantra pranayama – breathing practices with chanting or rumination on the Om & internal sound current – nada) before the yoga nidra practice.

A native of Santa Rosa\, California\, Ms. Durand is recognized as a gifted performer who is equally comfortable in a classical recital hall as she is in an intimate cabaret venue. \nMs. Durand was a recipient of the Everett B. Person Scholarship for Vocal Studies at Sonoma State University\, where she received her classical training and her Bachelor of Arts in Music. During her studies\, Ms. Durand became an avid enthusiast of new works and composers. She works\, and has worked with\, many composers to help bring their opera\, folk\, jazz\, and new-age visions to life. In January 2019\, Ms. Durand and her husband\, Evan Bowers\, purchased Music to My Ears in Cotati. They hope to continue the almost two decades of tradition as a community and family music center offering private lessons in voice and most instruments\, musical and opera productions\, acting classes\, and musical groups. DESCRIPTION:Yoga Sadhana (Practice)\nIn the cool morning air\, overlooking the beautiful pacific ocean\, I will guide you through a 90 minute TriYoga Practice. As this will be one day post the new moon\, you will have an opportunity to reflect on your intentions\, set positive goals\, and channel your energy towards personal growth and transformation. \nThe beautiful natural surroundings will likely enhance the overall experience\, helping you to connect more deeply with your inner self and the world around you.\nThis workshop includes; Asana (posture)\, Pranayama (rhythmic breath)\, Mudra (inner focus)\, Dharana (concentration)\, and Dhyana (meditation). TriYoga will harmonize and calm your nervous system\, leaving your whole being balanced\, bathed in inner peace\, and blissful in presence. \nNext\, Rebecca will lead us in 20 minute walking meditation practice\, winding through a nearby magical Labyrinth. The practice of walking meditation reduces stress\, improves mental clarity\, and stabilizes emotions. \nWe will end the workshop by sharing insights\, appreciation\, and questions you may have about the experience. The workshop will commence at 9AM\, and end by Noon. \nThe Hike\nAfter the yoga program\, an optional hike on the Pomo Canyon Trail to Redhill is offered to those who are interested in joining. The hike is a 4.4 mile loop with 1\,102 ft. elevation gain. The hike is considered a moderately challenging hike for experienced hikers\, which takes an average of 2 hours and 25 minutes. Hiking speeds and return times may vary. Yoga postures and meditation may be incorporated into the hike. \nKashi is the Founding Director of Kashi Ananda Yoga (formerly Devi Yoga Center) in Sebastopol\, CA and a senior teacher of TriYoga International. She is also a Yoga Therapist approved by IAYT.
